We have a huge announcement! Not only do we have a free 3D Jaguar XKSS model for you but we also have a bunch of free materials and a new contest where you could win thousands of dollars in prize value! So, here’s the scoop:
1. The model is created by Luis Lara + team over at wirewheelsclub.com. He’s given us permission to give away this un-textured, gorgeous model of a 1957 Jaguar XKSS Model! They have other incredible models on their site, so check them out!
2. We are going to start up a brand new contest featuring this model. It will be a texturing contest, similar to the one we did previously with a motorcycle model (thepixellab.net/cinema-4d-motorcycle-texturing-contest-results)
As you can see from the previous motorcycle contest, you will have to texture and light the car model, create an interesting/dynamic scene for it to be in, and render out a still of your creation. This is a GREAT way to practice your texturing and lighting and learn some new techniques. Push yourself to try a new software or a new way of lighting or texturing you haven’t done before. It will be awesome to see what everyone comes up with!
3. If you are a Redshift or Octane user, we are GIVING AWAY mini-packs of automotive-related textures for you to use. These textures are from our Redshift and Octane Material packs you can find in our store (www.thepixellab.net/products). Download the freebie and make sure to use at least 5 of the materials in your render in order to qualify! Feel free to make or use other textures as well; just include at least 5 from the free packs.
4. After texturing and rendering out your scene, using at least 5 of the included textures, just send an e-mail to joren@thepixellab.net with the render attached. Make sure to tell me what render engine you used and what textures you used from the free packs! Then you will be entered in the contest.
5. The contest will end on the last day of April, 2023. We will vote on the entries shortly after.
The prizes are:
1: $1,000 of products of the winner’s choice.
2. $500 of products of the winner’s choice.
3. $300 of products of the winner’s choice.
And finally, if you’re mad because you’re not a Redshift or Octane user, I apologize but we can’t provide any free textures. However, I don’t want to exclude you, so feel free to enter the contest and use your own textures. Just let me know what render engine you used and I will include you in the contest!
