Free Cinema 4D Model: Traditional Chinese Sky Lantern

I have a beauty of a free model today which was created by my friend Rodrigo Ortega. He’s an art director/designer based in Shanghai and he modeled a gorgeous traditional Chinese sky or paper lantern. It comes with multiple versions: .c4d with included hair objects, the .c4d file but baked down in case you don’t have the hair module and also a .obj and .fbx. Huge thanks to Rodrigo. A sky lantern, also known as Kongming lantern or Chinese lantern, is a small hot air balloon made of paper, with an opening at the bottom where a small fire is suspended. In ancient China, sky lanterns were strategically used in wars for military communication (transmitting secret messages) or lighting the sky when laying siege on the city at night. Later they were incorporated into festivals like the Chinese Mid-Autumn and Lantern Festivals. Thanks again Rodrigo!
